Single Acting Telescopic Cylinders deliver exceptionally long stroke lengths from a compact retracted size by using multiple nested stages that extend sequentially under hydraulic pressure. The largest stage extends first, followed by progressively smaller stages, while gravity or load weight returns the stages to the retracted position.
This design is critical for applications where the required stroke length would make a standard single-stage cylinder impractically long — such as dump truck beds, tipper trailers, refuse collection vehicles, and hydraulic lifting platforms. The telescopic design achieves stroke-to-retracted-length ratios that no other cylinder type can match.
KBR Engineers manufactures telescopic cylinders in 2-stage through 6-stage configurations, with each stage precisely machined and fitted with inter-stage sealing systems to prevent internal leakage. The outer barrel and inner stages are manufactured from high-strength steel with chrome-plated surfaces for wear resistance.
